Abstract

569,697. Electric cable conduits. PARKER, W. F., PERKINS, L. R., SUTTON, E. J., and WOOLLEY, J. W. Sept. 2, 1943, No. 14360. [Classes 36 and 38 (i)] A pressed-sheet metal conduit for indoor wiring, forming part of the room decoration, extending around or down the walls; has rounded corners. The skirting, Fig. 3, comprises upper and lower compartments 1, 2, the former for telephone and bell wires and the latter for power and lighting wires. The casing consists of front and rear walls 3, 4 joined by a partition 5, wall 4 being completed by a cover 6 screwed at 11. Partition 5 has openings 10 to connect the lower wires to a socket 3a for a plug 3b. Wall 3, which may be in line with the plaster, has a bent part 9 receiving the plaster. Angular or rounded corners are provided and they may be of cast metal and without movable covers. Another form of skirting, Fig. 8, consists of a one-piece back 13 with welded partition 5 and a slanting cover 6 secured by screws 11 at top and bottom. The junction-box has separate compartments for the compartments 1, 2, the former having a shield 26 in one compartment and the latter a shield 27 in the other, 28, 29 being conduit entries and 31, 33 ... 35 conduit outlets. A removable cover is also provided.
