299,978. McLoughlin, H. F. Oct. 6, 1927. Junction boxes; earth-continuity couplings. - An installation fitting such as a junction box, switch mounting, &c. is built up of interchangeable parts comprising a base plate a having bosses a<2> with intermediate cable entry recesses a', an insulator b and cover c to be secured to the base plate when used as a junction box, and a pedestal d that fits over the bosses a<2> for making up a mount for a switch or other accessory. The base plate a is fitted with bridge-members a<4> that clamp and bond the sheathing of the conductors or the conduit ends. The insulator b carries clamps comprising a pair of plates b' and screws b<4>, b<6> by which the wires are connected together. The cover c has cable entry openings c<1> formed in manufacture or by breaking away a thin portion. The pedestal d has a central opening d<2> and cable openings d' as in the cover c. A lamp-holder &c. may be attached to the cover c. A back entry opening e may be formed in the base plate a and a clamping bracket extending over the opening may be secured by a pair of the screws a<6>.
