Abstract
448,317. Junction boxes for cables. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Oct. 24, 1935, No. 29376. Convention date, Aug. 26. [Class 38 (i)] Relates to junction boxes of the kind which are adapted to be filled with sealing-compound and are provided with a number of leading-in points for the cables to be connected. According to the present invention, a junction-box of this kind is formed in two parts 1, 2 of which the upper part has a filling-opening closed by a screw plug A, and a number of openings are formed in the sides of the box which extend into both parts 1, 2 and into which insert elements are inserted and locked against rotation. The elements comprise leading-in connectors 10 provided with supporting straps or clamps 14 for the cables, or closing pieces 12, or connecting pieces 11 for connecting two or more of the boxes together. The elements are provided with rectangular flanges 13 which slide into grooves 13<1>, formed in the sides of the box, and prevent the elements from rotating.
