Plug couplings. - The contacts b of a socket fitting are of square or polygonal cross-section and are inserted from the back of the body a in recesses of corresponding shape, the front end of which is partially closed by a lip a<4> formed on the body or on a coverplate, leaving an opening a<3> just large enough for the plug to enter. The socket mav be split and is held in place by a screw c insulated in a lateral hole a<2> and serving to attach the cable to the socket. The body a. may be of selfcoloured porcelain.
