484,541. Junction boxes. GOTZL, A., (trading as GARVENSWERKE, MASCHINEN-, PUMPENUND WAAGENFABRIK W. GARVENS). June 14, 1937, No. 16513. Convention date, June 15, 1936. [Class 38 (i)] In order to give access to cable joints for changing the connections to a three-phase motor without removing the water-tight insulation 14 that seals the cable ends 3, 4 and their attachment to terminals 7, the terminals are mounted in the bottom 8 of a box 9 about which the insulation 14 is moulded. Partitions 11 are formed on the outside and inside of the box 9 to separate the terminals and to support a plate 13 over which a cover 16 is moulded or detachably applied. The insulation may be of rubber and may be surrounded by a rigid metal or other casing, such as wire gauze. A supporting strap 18 may be formed on the insulation 14.
