Abstract

537,096. Junction boxes. CALLENDER'S CABLE & CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., and ELLIS, W. F. March 8, 1940, No. 4366. [Class 38 (i)] A junction box having bus-bars 6 and cable terminals 5 arranged for connection by removable fuses or links, and having a separate upper part 2 which is removed to give access to the cable sockets 8 at the lower end of the terminals 5, has the joint 11 between the upper part 2 and the lower part 3 arranged approximately on a level with the base 12 so that when the part 2 is removed there are no side walls on the part 3. In order to provide for the cable entries 41 the base 12 slopes downwards at the ends and has side walls 13, Fig. 1, to maintain the line of the joint 11. In a modification the base 12 is on one level and plates 15, Fig. 3, carrying cable entry glands 16 are provided.
