Abstract

486,342. Hinges. KNIGHT, F. D. W. March 9, 1937, No. 6849. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] A collapsable crate, box, or case comprises four walls pivoted together at the corners at top and bottom by the hinge shown in Figs. 1 and 2, an end post H of a side wall being pivoted on a bottom slat F of an end wall by a pin D which passes loosely through metal ubes A in the members H, F and carries a rotatable plate B with keyhole slot C, which when the plate is rotated can engage a stud L on the bottom which engages in the elongated part of the keyhole slot ; the top is similar to the bottom. In a modification the walls are solid and are pivoted together as before, and a bottom, shown in Fig. 5 and a top, shown in Fig. 6, are secured by studs engaging rotatable plates as before.
