Abstract

533,674. Boxes, cases, crates &c. BEASLEY, W. J. Nov. 13, 1939, No. 29964. [Class 18] A collapsable box, crate, case or cabin trunk in which the sides 12 and ends 13 fold inwardly over the base has an upstanding projection spaced inwardly of each side edge of the base to prevent inward movement of the sides when these sides are erected. The projection may be formed by the inner limb 17 of a channelshaped member 18 in which the side 12 fits when erected. Alternatively, a number of short lugs or stops spaced apart may be provided to prevent inward movement of the erected sides. A flange 21 at each side edge of each end 13 overlaps the end of a sidewall of the erected box, and serves to pivot the end about a lug 22 upstanding from the base. Pivoted loops 26 at the top of each side 12 engage notches 26a in the flanges 21 to secure the sides and ends in erected position. The lid 14 is slidably connected to one end 12 by flexible strips 27 extending through apertures below pivoted members 28 on the ends.
