485,111. Cathode-ray tubes. FERRANTI, Ltd., and WILSON, J. C. Nov. 16, 1936, No. 31224. [Class 39 (i)] The modulating electrode e, Fig. 1, is of conical shape and of circular cross-section. The cathode b of hair-pin shape has the bight disposed just within the aperture f at the small end of the electrode e, the base of which is disposed towards the anode c. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the external and internal surfaces of the electrode e are generated by the revolution about an axis of two exponential curves, the external surface being concave.
