Abstract
Corrosion-resistant copper alloys particularly for making articles for use in contact with steam such as tubes, turbine parts, tanks, valves, &c., contain 86-99,9 per cent of copper, 0,01-11 per cent of manganese, and 0,01-3 per cent of cadmium, with or without up to 0,2 per cent each, or a total of 0,5 per cent, of one or more of the elements iron, tin, phosphorus, and chromium. Silicon may also be present as an impurity. Heat treatment may comprise heating above about 600 DEG C., quenching, and age hardening at 300-600 DEG C.
