Abstract

480,416. Snap - fasteners. FERNBERG, E. B. May 27, 1937, No. 14684. [Class 44] The stud of a snap-fastener in the form of a screw or solid rivet is formed or provided with an external annular groove within which is freely housed a spring ring adapted for snap cooperation with a socket. A stud 20, Fig. 7, has a spring ring 24 housed in a groove 26 cut in the head 22. The stud 20 may co-operate with a socket 27, Fig. 11, attached to a carpet 34 by a pronged ring 36. Various methods of forming the annular groove on the head of the screw and of forming and attaching the socket members are described.
