Abstract

566,446. Locking bolts. SMYE, A. Aug. 14, 1943, No. 13220. [Classes 65 (ii) and 89 (i)] A substitute for bolts and nuts &c. in making a fixed or frictionally pivoted connection comprises a headed pin 11 with a domed &c. head 15 and groove 18 forming a shoulder 17, and a dished spring stud or like member 5 having inwardlydirected slots 7 and outwardly-directed slots 9 to provide resilience. The parts are assembled by a hollow tool that forces the member 5 over the domed &c. head of the pin until the edges 8 snap under and resiliently engage the shoulder 17.
