Abstract

811,389. Stud and socket fastenings. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Sept. 11, 1957 [Sept. 19, 1956], No. 28707/56. Class 44 A fastener for attachment to the end of a stud member 7 is moulded from polythene, &c. and comprises a concave frusto-conical portion 1 with a peripheral rounded edge 2 and an integral central hub 4, the latter having a tapered bore 5 which opens into a recess 3 to form an annular shoulder 6 adapted to be engaged by a shoulder 12 on the stud member. The stud member 7 may, as shown, project from a vehicle nameplate 8 which is mounted on a support 9, the projecting end of the stud member being formed with a tapered portion 11 and a head 10 for co-operation with the bore 5 and the recess 3. The nameplate 8 may be provided with more than one fastener.
