Abstract

479,394. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 10, 1937, No. 7102. Convention date, March 10, 1936. [Class 38 (ii)] A transformer has one or more low voltage winding sections each comprising a flat conductor forming two series con nected turns, one edge of the conductor forming an inner edge of one turn and an outer edge of the other, the turns being spaced apart and a high voltage winding being arranged between them. The low tension windings are formed from flat conductors 14 provided with terminals 13 and first bent to the form shown in Fig. 2. The conductors 14 are then bent about the middle portion 20 as shown in Figs. 3 and 5, so that each conductor forms two series connected turns spaced apart for the insertion of the high tension windings. The conductors 14 may be formed of a number of rectangular tubes secured together by dipping in molten tin, cooling fluid being circulated through these tubes from supply pipes provided with insulating sections. Specification 198,416, [Class 38 (ii)], is referred to.
