478,614. Driving auxiliary machines on motor vehicles. GUY, S. S., and AVERNS, R. DEAN-. Nov. 13, 1936, No. 30998. [Class 79 (ii)] The armature shaft of an electric generator for supplying power for a searchlight or other auxiliary device forms an essential part of the ordinary transmission gear of the vehicle at all speeds. In the construction shown the electric generator is inserted between the engine 3 and the gear-box 4, and the armature shaft 2 is connected at one end to the engine shaft by a coupling 5 and at the other end to a clutch 6 driving the gear-box.
