478,568. Kitchen ranges. BURGER EISENWERKE GES. July 15, 1936, No. 19622. Convention date, July 22, 1935. [Class 126] A kitchen range comprises boiling plates 7, 8 above the combustion chamber and above the outlet flue 12 for the combustion gases, heat insulating covers 13, 13a for the boiling plates when not in use, and a fan 17 driven by an electric motor 16, provided adjacent the combustion chamber to convey air for combustion to the combustion chamber, the duration of running of the fan being controlled automatically by a time switch 27 connected to the motor. The flues 21, 23, 22 around three sides of the oven 20 are divided by a vertical partition into front and rear parts, so that, with the damper 24 in the position shown, the hot gases pass directly to the chimney outlet. Behind the combustion chamber is a boiler 28, which forms one wall of the rear part of the flue 21. The hot-plates have ribs 10, 11, and have flanges fitting in grooves in the top-plate 6, with packing such as asbestos or sand in the grooves to sea] the joints. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the range may be fired with solid or other (e.g. liquid) fuel. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
