Abstract

477,891. Pipe joints. ELLIOTT, J. H. July 3, 1936, No. 18457. [Class 99 (i)] In a joint as described in Specification 387,687 in which a part 3 of a packing ring is expanded against the socket by a tapered sheet metal ferrule E entering a split liner D, a clearance is left between the inner ends of ferrule and liner when in position in the joint. The liner may be cylindrical or have a slight convergent or divergent taper. The packing ring may have external annular ribs. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 387,687.
