Abstract

476,577. Two-part couplings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., KING, W. E., and GOODY, H. E. June 10, 1936, No. 16223. [Class 38 (i)] In a socket for a tubular lamp, a resilient contact 9, with a ridge 16 to engage in a corresponding recess in a plug, is provided with a stud 13 passing through a hole in the socket wall and having a cam-shaped head 15 so that after insertion of the plug, a locking ring 6 may be screwed over the head thereby locking the plug in position. A member 7 having a ridge 8 is provided opposite the contact 9 or a projection may be moulded on the wall of the socket. In a modification, Fig. 3, two resilient contacts 19, 20 are employed, retained by a central screw 18, with studs 22 actuated by the ring 25.
