Abstract

475,824. Two-part couplings. ARNOLD, C. L., DOWSETT, R. W., and M. K. ELECTRIC, Ltd. June 5, 1936, No. 15761. [Class 38 (i)] A shield 4 pivoted at 5 and moved by a spring 10 to cover the sockets 2 when the plug member is withdrawn, is actuated to uncover the sockets 2 by an earthing pin 8 acting on a member projecting from the shield at a distance from the pivot 5 not less than the distance of the sockets 2 therefrom. The member enters the earthing socket below its entry end and may consist of a curved bar 7 rigidly attached to the shield and having a bevelled end 7a forming the abutment on which the pin 8 acts. The shield 4 may be a semicircular disc with holes to uncover the sockets 2.
