Abstract
475,007. Draught-excluders for doors. SMYTH, G. Nov. 27, 1936, No. 32455. [Class 20 (iii)] A hinged-flap draught-excluder for the bottom rails of doors is made in two telescopically connected parts 1, 1a for adjustment to doors of varying widths. The parts 1, la have each a felt or like strip 4, 4a, and are bent from sheet-metal as shown in Figs. 5 and 6 respectively. The combined strip is mounted on bent rods 2, 3, engaging staples 6 in the door, the rods being riveted to the strip and one being bent to form an actuating lever 11 having a roller 12 engaging the jamb when the door is closed. The excluder is raised from the floor when the door opens by the ends of a helical spring 8 mounted on the pivot rod 2.
