Abstract

213,795. Thompson, W. R. May 9, 1923. Draught, dust, and weather excluders for doors and windows consist of a movable sheet metal channel-shaped holder 9 preferably padded with felt 13 and pivoted to parallel links 5 in a casing secured in a recess or rabbet of the door &c. The protruded end 9<a>, preferably provided with a roller, engages a plate &c. on the door frame when closing, and depresses the pad on to the floor. Springs 10 acting on the supporting-links raise the excluder when the door is opened. The casing or its cover plate has inturned &c. edges acting as stops for the downward movement of the excluder. A plate 12 acts as a stop for the upward movement and as a dust shield for the recess, a cover plate being provided on the opposite side to stiffen and close that end of the casing. Holes are provided in the pad for holding same during fitting.
