Abstract

397,494. Draught-excluders for doors and windows. SCHADE, F. W., Schwarzenbergstrasse, Plettenberg, Westphalia, Germany. Feb. 19, 1932, No. 5004. [Class 20 (iii ).] A draught, dust, and weather excluding device for doors and windows comprises a metal strip or strips having two upwardly curved arms extending one over the other, the strips being fixed to the fixed or moving frame by nails, screws or the like. According to one construction two separate strips a, Fig. 4, are fixed to the sill B of a window and close the gap D between the sill B and the moving frame M. Each strip may be corrugated to provide a series of longitudinal channels. In modifications, Fig. 2, the two strips are made from a single piece of metal bent in the middle, the bend forming a common flat portion for nailing to the frame. The arms of the strip form a continuous curve as at F or the arms of the strip are corrugated as at E.
