Abstract

497,184. Draught-excluders for doors. PERCIVAL, S. (Chamberlin Metal Weather Strip Co.) March 8, 1938, No. 7236. [Class 20 (iii)] A sliding-bar draught-excluder for doors is supported by a single leaf spring 9 in a groove in the bottom edge of a door and actuated by a plunger and pivoted lever 16 from the hinged edge, so that the strip is depressed on to the floor at the hinged side first, and leaves the floor at the swinging edge first when the door is opened. The lever 16 is pivoted at 15 in a bracket 6 and acts on the strip by a roller 17. The plunger 19 has a screw adjustment and spring retainer 20. The supporting spring comprises two leaves 7, 9, hooked to a member 11 on the strip. A bearing screw &c. 22 is provided in the jamb.
