Abstract
474,910. Type-bar-making machines. LINOTYPE & MACHINERY, Ltd. May 9, 1936, No. 13148. Convention date, Aug. 10, 1935. Addition to 452,175. [Class 100 (iii)] Assembling matrices.-In the method described in the parent Specification of casting long lines in a number of sections adapted to be placed end to end, and more especially in the case of lines cast in two sections only, the use of blank matrices at the end of the second section of the matrix line is avoided by the insertion of that section in the composing-stick e, Fig. 3, in a direction reverse to that of the first section, i.e. with the matrices in upright position. The clamping-member f of the stick can thereby be used instead of blank matrices for forming the stepped portion g, Fig. 3a, of the type-bar section.
