Abstract

348,392. Type ; type-matrices. LANSTON MONOTYPE CORPORATION, 43, Fetter Lane, London, and PIERPONT, F. H., Salfords, Horley, Surrey. May 17, 1930, No. 15201. [Classes 100 (ii) and 100 (iii).] Types, more particularly for making up ruled formes, as shown in Fig. 5, are formed so as to interlock with adjacent types, in order to maintain accurate alignment. Each type A, Fig. 4, has a rule printing-face B, and is formed on two adjacent sides with lugs or projections C, and on the other two sides with corresponding recesses D, which receive the projections on adjacent types. The types are cast in matrices E, Fig. 6, having suitable formative cavities.
