Abstract
474,214. Wireless signalling. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. April 23, 1937, No. 11685. Convention date, June 26, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] The two aerials 5, 5<1> of a microwave installation are set at right-angles to each other, with their coaxial feeders 4, 41 in line, and associated with a common reflecting system comprising a spherical surface 2 set at the focus of a parabolic surface 1. Each aerial operates on a different wavelength and is coupled to a short-wave oscillator-detector of the Clavier type comprising a cathode 9, a grid 8, and a reflecting electrode 11. The grid is coupled to the aerial at c1 and c2, and the reflecting electrode to an oscillating circuit L1, Cl, and thence through a change-over switch 12 to a receiver R. Fig. 1 shows two receivers, though the two aerials 5, 5<1> may be used for simultaneous transmission, or for alternate transmission and reception. Fig. 3. shows the mounting of the combined unit, the valves being slidably fitted in the housing 19, 191 for tuning.
