472,370. Valve bags. DUBOIS, A. Jan. 22, 1937, Nos. 1903 and 1904. Convention dates, Jan. 22, 1936 and Nov. 9, 1936. [Class 94 (ii)] A valve bag is provided with a valve-sealing device comprising a pocket formed by making slits 6 in the inner valve lip 5 and turning back the portion 7 therebetween, a flexible sheet-like member 4, which may be of crÛped paper, being attached to the outer valve lip or the bag bottom by staples &c. so that it may be inserted into the pocket and folded inwardly with the portion 7 thereof, Fig. 2. A staple &c. may be used to seal the folds thus formed. A piece of cardboard &c. either flat or U-shaped, may be used, either free or attached to the inner valve lip 5 or to the pocket member, to form and reinforce the same.
