829,459. Multi-ply valve bags. HOUSEL, C. Aug. 8, 1957 [Aug. 9, 1956], No. 26095/57. Class 94(2) In multi-ply cross-bottom valve bags having incisions 2, 3 in at least the outer ply, the incision 3 for the side opposite the valve is made longer than the usual incision 2 and is arranged so that, on folding the inner flaps 6, 7, the incisions 3 intersect the projected fold lines 4a, 4b outwardly of and away from the ends whereby upon closing the outer flaps 6a, 7a triangular tips 8a, 8b, Fig. 8, are formed which project beyond the ends of the fold edges and are stuck together to form a dust-tight seal. Such tips are provided on both sides of the bottom of the bag and on one side of the top, the other side of the top being made in the ordinary way to take the valve hose.
