Abstract
711,870. Paper bags. ST. REGIS BATES SOC. ANON. Nov. 6, 1951. [April 28, 1951], No. 25945/51. Class 94 (2) A multi-ply bag formed from a section of multiply tube has at least one protruding stepped corner flap of which at least one ply has an extension and one an equal length recess, while at least one outer ply is neither extended nor recessed. In one embodiment, Figs. 3, 4, the inner and outer plies 4, 1 are neither extended nor recessed at the corners. Ply 3 'has extended flaps at the left corners and recessions at the right corners while ply 2 has recessions at the left corners and extensions at the right corners. The corner flaps l, m, are separated from the side flaps p, q, by cuts. One corner may be left ungummed to provide a valve. For an open bag, only the bottom end is so formed or a sewn bag may have one corner only so formed and the bag may have longitudinal folds, Fig: 6 (not shown).
