(Cl. 229-625) The present invention more particularly to bags having a very wide v 80 as to obtain a perfect and certain closure, even in the case of powdered products ther object is to enable, to be readily sealed. For the above purpose, the valve bag is provided with a closure device for the valve consisting of a member made of cardboard, paper or other similar material fixed to the outer lip of the I valve and having outside the bag a free transverse flappreferably of substantially the width of the valve, which flap is' arranged so that after filling the bag, it can be folded back and introduced into a kind of'pocket formed on the outer face of the inner lipof the valve, having substantially the width of said valve, and of which the opening is turned outwardly.
Three examples of embodiment of the closure device having the above defined characteristic and other advantageous pegularities are illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which:

In/the example of embodiment a closure part I made of relatively flexible paper, advantageously of creped paper, is fixed to the outer lip 2 of the valve of a bag 3, preferably by means of staples. Said part I is extended beyond the staple which is nearest the outer opening of the valve by a part4 which forms a free transverse. fiap of substantially the width of the valve. On the other hand, the i .ner lip5 of the valve is cut in the angles over a part of its length, from its end'within the bag, and the part 1 between said incisions 6 is folded back towards the outer opening of the valve, on the upper side of said inner lip 5, about a line A-B passing through the starting point of said incisions 6. It will be seen that in this manner a,kind of pocket having a. width substantially equal to that of the valve relates to valve bags and of Figs. 1 and 2,

With a bag thus constructed, the introduction of effected as with an ordinary valve bag. When the bag is full and the tube has been withdrawn, it suffices to fold back the flap 4 by hand inside the pocket (Fig. 2) to obtain a hermetically closed, valve which it is possible to seal with a staple, a seal or any similar device connecting together the outer part of the flap 4, the face I of the of the flap 4 within the pocket. In orderto still further improve the closure, the three aforesaid elements can be folded or rolled together, preferably inside thepocket, as shown in Fig. 2.
In the modified embodiment in Fig. 4, the closure device is similar to thatof Figs. 1 to 3 with the sole difference that the pocket is formed by 'the inner lip 5 of the valve and a piece of paper .or cardboard 1 covering the upper face of said;

\ A similar piece of paper or cardboard can also be provided in the case of the pocket of Fig. 1 to the filling tube and the filling of the bagare reinforce the face I of the pocket'and this reinforcing element 8 (Figs. 5 and 6) need not be permanently fixed to the bag but can be folded to form a U-shaped member fitting onto the pocket of the valve and not secured theretoby any" means. Both in the cases of Figs. 4 and 5, it is further advantageous that the reinforcing element extends beyond the valve until it comes at a short distance from the outer end of the flap 4 (Fig. 5) thereby considerably facilitating the'placing in position of the bag on the filling tube and the folding together of the elements .4 and 8.
Of course, the invention is no way limited to the peculiarities of embodiment and to the constructive details described and illustrated which have only been given by way of example. Thus for example the free transverse flap is not. necessarily integral with the part fixed to the outer lip of the valve but it can be attached to the latter and can be made of a diflerent material. Similarly the, closure part fixed to the outer lip can v, be fixed on the outer or inner faces of the latter and be of smaller width than that of the valve,
