Abstract
468,823. Injectors. ARKIN, J., and MILLE, E. Dec. 1, 1936, No. 32953. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1935. [Class 71] [Also in Group XII] Apparatus for supplying a mixture of steam and heated air above a furnace grate consists of an injector comprising four spaced concentric tubes 1, 2, 3, 4, steam being delivered by one or more pipes 10 to the space 9 between the tubes 1 and 2 from which it issues in the form of an annular jet between the cores 7 and 8 and induces air through the chambers 14 and 20. Air is admitted to the annular chamber between the tubes 3 and 4 through the inlet 12 controlled by a valve 18 and divides into two parts, one part passing through the apertures 13 to the chamber 14 and the other part passing through the apertures 13, 16 to the chamber 20. The air is heated in these chambers by the steam before mixing with the steam in the outlet tube 17. The tube 1 is externally threaded at 5 and is adjustable to vary the size of the steam outlet.
