Abstract

467,319. Feeding sheets. SPIESS, G. Nov. 17, 1936, No. 31496. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1935. [Class 100 (i)] . In a sheet-feeding device for printing, and other machines capable of operating on sheets of different sizes in which only a part of the printing-cylinder is fitted with a printing-surface, the sheet-feeding and registering devices are capable of adjustment so,as to allow the registration &c. of a sheet to be effected in a greater fraction of each revolution of the cylinder, and thus allow of speeding up of the machine when dealing with shorter sheets. To this end the front stops 4 of a printing-machine are operated by an adjustable two-part cam 13, 14 on the shaft 11 of the impression cylinder 12, and lever-and-link mechanism 6, 7, 8, 9, and the side-registering device 26 may be similarly controlled by an adjustable cam 22. The sheetseparating and feeding device is driven from the printing-machine by bevel gearing 17 and a shaft 18 fitted with an adjusting coupling or clutch 20.
