467,094. Cylinders. FICHTEL & SACHS AKT.-GES. Dec. 6, 1935, No. 33865. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1934. [Class 7 (ii)] In a two-stroke engine, the passages 6 behind two opposed inlet ports are directed to the point where the cylinder axis cuts the inner surface of the cylinder head and faces 12 on the piston deflect the scavenging streams along the cylinder walls when the ports are first uncovered by the piston ; single or opposed exhaust ports 11 are located in an axial plane transverse to the plane containing the passages 6. The deflecting faces 12 may be individual grooves opposite each port, or a continuous frusto-conical surface.
