Abstract
463,891. Cathode-ray tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and JESTY, L. C. Feb. 5, 1936, No. 3474. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube for use as a television receiver the image formed on the luminescent screen 2 is reflected by a mirror 5 on to a viewing screen 6 outside of the bulb 3. The mirror may be a coating inside or outside of the glass bulb ; or it may be flexible to enable it to be readily inserted in the tube ; or where part of the tube is metal, the mirror may be formed on this metal part ; or the mirror may be separate from and outside of the tube. A lens may be used between the mirror and screen 6. The screen 2 may be curved and adjustable by magnetic means to enable the picture to be focused on the viewing screen 6, which is at a variable distance from the tube. The arrangement disclosed in Specification 452,148 is disclaimed.
