[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVIII] A diaphragm fuel-pump comprises two diaphragms actuated by rods extending from a yoke 4 which is reciprocated by an eccentric 3. The pumps have a common suction 10 and delivery 19 and the output is controlled by a byepass valve 32 actuated by a diaphragm 24. The diaphragm 24 is loaded by an adjustable spring 25 and is located in a chamber 22 connected to the delivery 19 by small orifices 23 so that the action of the diaphragm is damped. The orifices 23 may be replaced by grooves in the valve spindle or by having the valve spindle a loose fit in its guide.
