Abstract

508,699. Reciprocating pumps. CALLENDER'S CABLE & CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., and GRIEVE, G. T. W. Jan. 5, 1938, No. 326. [Class 102 (i)] Two plungers 1, 2 driven by connecting rods 3, 4 have a common chamber 7 fitted witl valves 8, 9. The out put of the pump is varied by adjusting the phase relationship of the shaft 5, 6, preferably by mec hanism described in Specification 508,703. To compensate variations in the accelerations of the plungers when they are 180 degrees out of phase, and obtain a zero delivery, the chamber 7 is fitted with a spring loaded plunger 10, the movements of which are limited by a fixed stop 12 and an adjustable stop 13.
