Abstract

408,664. Reciprocating pumps. CHALMERS, R. A., and TECALEMIT, Ltd., Great West Road, Brentford, Middlesex. Oct. 12, 1932, No. 28447. [Class 102 (i).] In a multi-cylinder pump driven by an electric motor through worm gear 2, 3 and having plunger controlled suction parts 7 and discharge valves 9, each connecting rod is formed in two telescopic parts 14, 15 pressed apart by a spring 20 mounted on or in the rod, whereby the rods yield under excess load and prevent stoppage of the motor. Initial compression of the springs may be varied.
