462,628. Coal-cutting machines. ANDERSON, A., and ANDERSON, BOYES, & CO., Ltd. Jan. 22, 1936, No. 2016. [Class 68 (i)] In a coal-cutting machine having an impeller comprising blades 1 mounted on. a chain to move in an oblique path, the blades ascending as they leave the zone of accumulation of the cuttings to throw the latter upwards upon the parapet of cuttings disposed parallel to the line of cut, a structure including vanes 15 is provided, the inlet to the passages between the vanes being adjacent to the point of discharge from the impeller and the outlets being arranged to direct the cuttings to the desired position. The vanes depend from a plate 13 mounted on the impeller housing. Notches 16 may be provided at the rear of the plate and between the vanes. Specification 435,799 is referred to.
