Abstract

656.336. Centrifugal fans. KONINKLIJKE MASCHINEFABRIEK GEB.,. STORK & CO., N.V. Jan. 3, 1949, No. 98. Convention date, Jan. 19, 1948. [Class 110(i)] In a centrifugal fan comprising a series of hollow blades of aerofoil form arranged at the circumference of the impeller, each blade is provided over at least a part of its axial width with a recess in which a plate is secured by connecting means passing through both walls of the blade. The blade walls are bent from plates 5, 6 which are welded together at 7. The plate 5 is cut away over the zone subject to erosion, the opening being closed by a plate 9 and a strip 11 which are secured by 'welding. Strengthening ribs 8. 12 are welded between the plates. The recess formed by the plate 9 is closed by a renewable wearing plate 13, secured by rivets 14. A flange 15 on the plate 13 protects the back wall of the impeller from wear.
