Abstract

462,536. Valve amplifying circuits. WHITE, E. L. C. Sept. 7, 1935, No. 24977. (Class 46 (v)] A direct-coupled amplifier for handling a fre. quency range from four megacycles to zero, has the second valve V2 connected as a cathode follower, thus reducing the capacity shunting effect of the anode impedance R1 in a similar manner to that disclosed in Specification 448,421. The cathode impedance R2 is made equal to the impedance R1 and large compared with the inverse of the mutual conductance of valve V2. The output voltage across impedance R2 is substantially equal to that across impedance R1, the output impedance seen from terminals C is low, and the valves V1, V2 together draw a constant current from the battery B, thus avoiding the necessity of providing decoupling means when the battery B is used to supply other pairs of valves similarly connected. Three pairs of valves are disclosed in Fig. 2 (not shown), the first being connected to the second by a condenser and biassing resistance, and the second to the third by a floating battery.
