Abstract

462,058. Gas stoves. RADIATION, Ltd., and YATES, H. J. Sept. 20, 1935, No. 26069. [Class 126] Relates to a gas-heating apparatus providing luminous radiation and in addition means for heating the air of the room by convection. Ir the lower part of the casing is a burner b with a reflector c behind anc beneath it, and above it a forwardly sloping refractory bridge e, beneath which is a thin parti tion f which can bE made to glow by the heat of the flames. Just below the partition is a tubular radiant h having an incandescing wire wound on or in it. The hot gases after passing the forward edges of the partition and the bridge traverse a U-casing formed between plates m, k, r or of tubes and eventually reach a flue outlet x. At the back of the U -casing are open ended passages adapted to receive air from below and discharge it in heated condition at the top part of the casing, with the secondary effect of keeping the back of the casing cool.
