Abstract

461,732. Flexible clutch plates. BORG & BECK CO., Ltd. July 17, 1936, No. 19909. Convention date, April 17. [Class 80 (ii)] The carrier disc 7 of a clutch plate is resiliently coupled to the hub 2 by one or more annular stamped steel plates 15, the outer and inner peripheral portions of which are connected by non-radial spokes 17 and are secured to the disc 7 and to a flange 6 on the hub respectively. Three forms of spokes are shown in Figs. 1, 5, and 6 respectively. The spokes of adjacent plates may be staggered, as shown in Fig. 6. The plates 15 are arranged symmetrically on each side of the disc 7, which latter projects between the plates and carries friction washers 24 to produce damping. A ring 13 is arranged between the two middle plates and the rivets 22 securing the plates to the flange 6 pass through the ring 13.
