Abstract

461,142. Magnetos. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and ALLEN, A. MASSEY-. Aug. 10, 1935, No. 22627. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXVII] In a magneto with a rotary magnet at the end remote from the fixing flange, this flange being integral with the body, the distributer is disposed at one side of the magnet shaft between the flange and the windings and is secured by a single axial bolt passing through the distributer rotor and secured at both ends to the magneto body. In the form shown, the rotary part l of the distributer is secured by the bolt t and driven by gears m, n from shaft c which carries the magnet d and cam e. The bolt t passes through the distributer rotor and is secured to the part a<1> of the magneto frame. The distributer has an additional slip ring x co-operating with terminal y connected to a separate magneto or ignition coil used for engine starting. The fixing flange b is integral with the magneto frame a.
