Magnetos, driving.-The valve cam shaft 4 of an internal-combustion engine is fitted with an eccentric 16, crank, or cam which actuates a reciprocating magneto. 19 by means of a rod 18 and bell-crank 20, 22. The rod 18 is fitted with springs 26, 27 at opposite sides of the bell-crank 20, and adjustments may be made by means of a nut 28. The valve, cam and magneto eccentric &c. may be arranged outside the crank case, or may be carried by a sleeve turning on a stud fixed within the crank case.
