Abstract
192,497. Guthrie, W., and Wallace (Glasgow), Ltd. Nov. 4, 1921. Valves; valve-gear.-In an engine employing a single coaxal sleeve valve operated with a combined reciprocatory and angular motion, the halfspeed valve shaft 54 is extended through the crank-case cover 19 and fitted with a driving- pulley 57 which may be used as a substitute for the pulley 83 on the crank-shaft when a slow speed is required. The sleeve valve 50 is driven by the spherical member 61 on the half-speed shaft which engages in the lug 63 on the valve. A transverse shaft 66, on which are the governor and magneto, is also driven by the half-speed shaft.
