461,120. Gramophone recording circuits. LEITHAUSER, G. Aug. 17, 1936, No. 22584. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1935. [Class 40 (iv)] The mean position of the recording element of an electromagnetic or electro-optical recording instrument connected in the anode circuit of an amplifying valve varies with variations of the direct current component. To compensate this effect, additional direct current dependent on and opposed to said component is fed to the instrument. As described, the instrument has an additional winding to which the opposing current is fed. The opposing current may be the anode current of a second valve which is caused to vary in accordance with the current variations of the amplifying valve, or a direct current instrument in the anode circuit of the amplifying valve may control a variable resistance in the circuit of the second winding which is fed by a D.C. source. The windings may be on separate cores, but where they are on the same core a low-frequency choke is inserted in the circuit of the compensating winding to prevent it from short-circuiting the audio-frequency currents in the main winding.
