[Class 40 (iv)] In an anti-sidetone circuit, the transmitter 11, which is in series with one winding 1 of the transformer, is shunted by two circuits, one of relatively high resistance through the second winding 2, and the other comprising a tapped resistance 7, 8 and a condenser 6 with the receiver 9 and the third winding 3 connected across a part of the resistance. The circuits shunted across the transmitter are such as to provide a relatively low impedance path for surge currents due to switchhook operation and other causes.
