Abstract

April 27, 1935, No. 12684. [Class 40 (iii)] In a superheterodyne receiver in which the intermediate frequency is higher than the frequency of the signal, a filter of the kind shown in Fig. 1 is employed and the values of L, C1 are so adjusted that the intermediate frequency is rejected. The capacity C1 may be the self capacity of the coil L and the filter may be associated with the aerial circuit or form the second element of a bandpass filter as shown in Fig. 3. In a modification, the filter is used as an intervalve coupling, Fig. 4 (not shown). When a receiver operates over several wavebands the intermediate frequency may be changed with the waveband so as to be above that of the operative band.
