Abstract

457,215. Anti - side - tone circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and JONES, A. F., c/o General Electric Co., Ltd., Stoke, Coventry. Aug. 9, 1935, No. 22481. [Class 40 (iv)] An anti-side-tone substation circuit includes a three-winding transformer having one winding C connected directly across the line wires, a second winding B in parallel or in series with the receiver R and a third winding A in series with the battery L forming a shunt across the transmitter T. A resistance Z acts as a line balance and regulates the anti-sidetone action, while a condenser K isolates the battery L from the line. Fig. 3 shows the position of the switch hook contacts H and the dial impulse and off-normal contacts M, N. The Provisional Specification describes a modified arrangement in which the transmitter T and battery L are shunted by the third winding A.
