Abstract
191,723. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Austin, E.). Jan. 12, 1922, [Convention date]. Inductances.-Relates to magnetic modulators for wireless signalling of the kind described in Specification 7151/13. In order to lessen the net inductive variation in the high-frequency winding, when this is directly in series with the aerial system, as shown in Fig. 1, the winding is split into two portions 5, 6, Fig. 2, which are wound in opposition. In this way the total changes in the inductive value of the high-frequency winding created by the lowfrequency variations of the control circuit containing the microphone 10 are not sufficient to detune the aerial system 7 to any considerable extent, and therefore distortion effects'are greatly diminished. As shown in Fig. 2, the magnetizing or control windings 1, 2 are wound around the two legs 3, 4 of a closed laminated core. One portion 5 of the high frequency winding is wound in opposition to the other portion 6.
